Hungry for Justice? Don’t get too greedy

Articles, Procedure + Litigation

Many are hungry for justice, but a lawyer in Russia took his appetite to save his client from a potential prison sentence too far, according to Yahoo.

The client in question was accused of drink driving.  His lawyer was left alone in the judge’s chambers for a few minutes and, given the chance, decided to eat the only copy of the breathalyzer report which comprised the damning evidence against his client.

Unfortunately for our would-be Denny Crane, a suspicious secretary checked closed circuit video which had recorded the moment the lawyer’s hunger for justice crossed into improper gluttony.  The lawyer now faces a fine or up to two years in prison.
